In order to obtain compliance with MCL 125.1510(2), SMBA is requiring written proof of authorization to obtain a permit on behalf of a property owner.  This can be a signed contract for work, a power of attorney, or a letter of authorization.

To facilitate this change, SMBA is releasing updated revisions for our application forms.  The updated forms can be found on the applications & forms page.

We will be allowing some flexibility for a couple of weeks as a transition period, but after that time we will be rejecting incomplete applications.  Please contact our office via phone, email, or our contact form with any questions.  Thank you!
